When a family grows, you need a bigger house. And that is what happened to us in CAIBA, we need a new house because, thanks to our customer’s confidence, we keep on growing one year after year. So, after nearly 40 years in our factory in Paterna (Valencia), we are moving to our new facility in Ribarroja (Valencia). A bigger factory strategically located which will let us increase our production capacity and give a better service to our customers.

CAIBA exposes in “Emballage” trade fair which took place in the “Parc des Expositions” in Paris, from November 19th to 22nd. During these 4 days we received a very large number of potential and current customers which allowed us to present our wide range of PET pre-forms and bottles.
As a respond to the tendency of bottling cosmetic and personal hygiene products in PET and to deal with our current and future customers’ needs, CAIBA is launching 2 new pre-forms, neck finish 24/415: 25 and 30 grams.
Caiba expands its integration in Ybarra Foods Group with the production of a 1L bottle for edible oil.
Gaspar Zarrias, Spanish Territorial Cooperation Vice minister, and Elena Viboras, mayor of Alcala la Real, recently visited the factory of Caiba Andalucia.
The purpose of the visit was the 340,000 euros subvention delivered to Caiba by the government of Spain, as a part of an industrialization program for the region of Alcala la Real.
According to the mayor of Alcala la Real, “Caiba Andalucia is a leader and modern company, in constant innovation, with 45 employees and 15 million euros of annual turnover.
Along with Gaspar Zarrias and Elena Viboras, Felipe Lopez, local government representative in Jaen, and Jose Lopez, Economy, Treasure and Agriculture city councilor, also visited the factory.
El Ayuntamiento de Alcalá la Real (Jaén)ha reconocido el papel de Caiba en el desarrollo económico y social del municipio otorgándole el Premio Hércules 2010 de Economía y Turismo.
The city council of Alcala la Real (Jaen) has delivered Caiba the 2010 Hercules economy award, recognizing the role of Caiba in the economic and social development of the city.
According to city council’s sources, this award outlines Caiba as an example in managing its economic activity, innovation, human resources management, investing in one sustainable future, for the good of its customers and all the people involved in its activity.
Caiba thanks the city council for this award and reinforce its commitment in developing the economy of the region.
Caiba adds to its range of performs the 38mm neck finish for 1L, 1.5L and 5L bottles. This new product follows the trend of shortening in the weight of the bottles, reducing raw material expenses and making a benefit from the environmental point of view.
Caiba launches its new range of preforms, neck finish 29/25, for mineral water. This type of neck finish supposes a few grams shortening in the weight of the bottles, which tends to save money on the cost of raw material making therefore a benefit also on the environmental point of view.

The launching of this range of preforms shows the policy of Caiba´s quality, innovation and the environmental respect.
In line with its goal of satisfying new market demands and developing finished products with greater added value, CAIBA’s Product Innovation Laboratory is planning to launch up to 14 new products on the market this year.
In the presence of the Minister of Science and Innovation, Cristina Garmendia, and the second Vice-President of the Valencian Government and Minister of Industry, Vicente Rambla, the newspaper El Mundo presented CAIBA with the Innovators Award for Best Business-Technology Institute Collaboration.
This award recognises the efforts made by CAIBA in developing a project in collaboration with AINIA, the Agri-Food Technology Institute of the Valencian Community, to increase the barrier effect of PET containers by adding an innovative material: nanoclays.
The Innovators Awards, in which Bancaja and CAM are also involved, recognise the work of Valencian companies that have managed to drive forward projects that are unique in the world at the highest scientific and business level.
In her speech, the Spanish Minister of Science said that "to a great extent, the track record of the winning companies demonstrates that theirs is a collective triumph”, and added that they are "fantastic representatives of Valencia’s capacity to innovate".
CAIBA’s Product Innovation Laboratory is heading up a pioneering international research project on the incorporation of nanoclays to increase the barrier effect of PET containers.
The project, which is being developed in conjunction with AINIA, the Agri-Food Technology Institute of the Valencian Community, aims to improve the properties of food containers to prevent oxygen from entering and carbon dioxide from leaving them, thus increasing the useful life of the product on supermarket shelving and dispensing with far more expensive multi-layered solutions.
